Invention of Wheel

The invention of the wheel is a most important mechanical invention of all time. Invention of the wheel was root to industrial revolution of the world. Wheel has been the most basic element of the every machines made by human. It is mystery to tell who invented the first wheel, but it may be invented across the ancient civilization.

Invention of the wheel is believed to have occurred in Mesopotamia, in the Middle East, anywhere fifth to the third millennium B.C. The oldest wheel found in archeological excavations Mesopotamia is believed to be the oldest and it is fifty five hundred years old.

Earliest, known invention is potter’s wheel. Wheel had been used for industrial and manufacturing works, before it was used for the transportation. Earliest forms of the wheel were made of stone and wood. These wheels were used for toys, transportation, weapons, tool, etc.

The Sumerians improved the wheel and they were used wheel chariots for their transportation in the war. Later ancient Egyptians were also used wheel chariots. Improvement of the wheel was continued throughout the history and it was used for gears in Middle Age. These improvements were resulted to invent clocks, water wheels, cogwheel, etc.

Invention of the wheel is the least part of the modern inventions. It was lead to the industrial revolution, which brought the world to new era. Invention of wheel was a great course to the development of the world. It was a great invention of the human kind, which ever made.
